Dunia Lobster Semporna Sdn Bhd was deeply honoured to welcome Datuk Zul Hadi bin Ahmad, Director of the Agriculture Division at the Ministry of Economy, together with his delegation for an official visit to our marine lobster hatchery farm in Timbun Mata, Semporna.
During the visit, the delegation received an in-depth tour of our aquaculture facilities. Our team presented the sustainable breeding protocols and high-biosecurity larval-rearing systems supporting our ambition to establish Sabah's first locally operated spiny-lobster hatchery.
From Wild Seed Dependency to Sustainable Supply
The visit provided a valuable platform to discuss our central vision: reducing reliance on wild-caught seed while creating a more reliable, science-led and sustainable lobster supply chain for Sabah and the wider region.
Datuk Zul Hadi and his team engaged in productive discussions with management on the future of high-value aquaculture. The session explored how pioneering projects such as Project SILAC can support Malaysia's national food-security goals, create high-skilled employment and stimulate economic activity in Semporna.
